It's game on for childhood MS

Multiple sclerosis (MS) doesn’t just affect
adults. It affects children, too. But kids with MS are
typically treated with drugs that have only ever been
approved for people over the age of 18. So our client
wanted to conduct a clinical trial program to learn how
these drugs affect children with MS.

I worked with a production partner to create
an animation that took inspiration from a world
that is both of-the-moment and nostalgic – retro
video games. The world created heroes of our
audience, casting them as the protagonist in a
face-off against their disease, battling their
own immune systems and embarking on an
epic journey. The animation explained the trial in
language that our audience could understand and
used narrative cues from the world of gaming to
explain the study (including enemies, boss fights
and power-ups). The result was an educational yet
highly engaging piece of vibrant communication.
